CII President Vikram ******loskar expressed hope that both

New Delhi: The US decision to withdraw export incentives from India has been taken in a "haste" and would hurt the domestic exporters, industry chamber Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) said on Monday.TPCI Chairman Mohit Singla said the withdrawal of benefits "will not" make much difference as Indian exports are all geared up to take this challenge.

As many as 1,900 Indian products from sectors such as chemicals and engineering get duty free access to the US market under the GSP, introduced in 1976."Government should provide some supports to products where GSP loss has been significant so that the market is not lost.7 billion in imports to the US given duty-free status, Singal said in a statement. This withdrawal of GSP is only going to inject the estimated additional burden of USD 190 million, which is miniscule compared to Indias overall export to US," he added."The issue of GSP has been done in a little bit of haste. The US has said it will withdraw incentives provided to Indian exporters under its Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) programme with effect from June 5."It impacts both the sides, not only us.Indias top exports to the US under GSP included motor vehicle parts, ferro alloys, precious metal jewellery, building stone, insulated cables, leather products, garment and wires."US importers enjoyed nearly USD 730 million in savings on import duties under GSP programme in 2016 and 2017.

It is also seeking market for its dairy products. He added that rolling back these benefits would impact both Indian as well as US companies. About two-third of US imports are under GSP programme and they are raw materials or components to manufacture goods," ******loskar said. The US has alleged that India is not providing equitable market access to its companies and has raised serious concerns over capping of price on certain medical devices."Even the US was benefitting from the GSP regime, since the intermediary inputs provided by India helped keep its industry competitive.CII President Vikram ******loskar expressed hope that both the US and India would discuss the matter and find an amicable solution to this issue."However, China auto door seal Manufacturers in respect of products having GSP benefits of 3 per cent or more, exporters may find it difficult to absorb the GSP loss," FIEO President Ganesh Kumar Gupta said in a statement. It saved American companies USD 894 million," he said.India was the largest beneficiary of the GSP programme in 2017 with USD 5.The sectors which would be impacted include most imitation jewellery, leather articles, pharmaceuticals, chemical and plastics, basic and processed agri goods, he added. The US demand for relaxation in norms for exports of medical devices and dairy products are non-negotiable for India. He said the programme helps American consumer by eliminating duties on varieties of expensive consumer goods and these benefits are real and tangible. Extension of rebate of state and central tax levies scheme on such products on exports to US will be beneficial."

Gupta said.Commenting on the issue, the Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI) said India is firmly planning to counter the US decision to withdraw GSP on Indian goods by imposing retaliatory tariffs in the coming months.. It is boosting the competitiveness of US manufacturers by lowering their غير مجاز مي باشدt.The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) said that the US decision would have minimal impact on Indian exporters. It is certainly going to hurt us, especially small item exporters," he told reporters here.

Mahesh Bhupathi takes over as captain for the firs

The fact that the Fayziev will have played the previous day and his veteran partner not having played competitive matches in six months could work in India’s favour but if India are to lose the rubber that was once their forte it could well raise questions over the selection made by the captain.Bengaluru: Eyeing their fourth Davis Cup World Group play-offs in a row, India host Uzbekistan in the Asia/Oceania Group I second round tie in Bengaluru from Friday. Ramk-umar and Prajnesh are the number one and two singles players while Bopanna and Balaji will take over in the doubles competition.Rohan Bopanna (doubles no.Predictable Uzbek sideUzbekistan, devoid of the services and star power of Denis Istomin, named a predictable side with Sanjar Fayziev leading the ranks with Temur Ismailov (406), Farrukh Dustov and Jurabek Karimov. Add to that the altitude, whoever wins will surely earn the result. In the doubles tie which often proves to be the turning point, the Indian pair have their work cut out for them.

The weather is expected to tend towards the sunny side despite evening showers over the past couple of days in what has been an already sweltering summer.Historically, contests between these two sides have ended with the hosts emerging victors.. The head-to-head is two-all, this being the first occasion they meet on hard courts. The home side head into the match with a largely inexperienced side that includes two debutants in Prajnesh Gunneswaran (world no. While Somdev Devvarman has hung up his racquet, India’s most decorated doubles player Leander Paes was dropped from the squad by the non-playing captain on the eve of the encounter.Ramkumar, having taken a set off Felicano Lopez in the playoffs against Spain, will be confident of his abilities while Fayziev’s five-set loss to South Korea’s rising star Hyeon Chung in the last clash bodes well for the world number 376 despite of the result.

The opening day will feature Ramkumar taking on Ismailov in the first match, followed by Prajnesh’s tie against Fayziev. At a venue that saw the hosts almost pull off a victory against Serbia three years ago, Mahesh Bhupathi takes over as captain for the first time without the two standout performers from that game. 287) and Sriram Balaji (doubles ranking 223) while their top singles player for the rubber, Ramkumar Ramanathan (267) will play his fourth tie, come Friday. 24), named ahead of Paes China Rubber gasket Manufacturers (53) as the doubles specialist, remains the lone experienced campaigner as Bhupathi stuck to his word of going in with three singles and one doubles player. Both teams will be missing their top singles player, Yuki Bhambri having pulled out, and with such fine margin of error, the tie may well be decided on who handles the physical and mental load of five set matches, which are quite alien to the singles players.Fayziev will be pulling triple duty as he is also slated to play the doubles tie along with Dustov
